With 194 restaurants worldwide, the UK-based restaurant group wagamama is a cult favorite among chefs and foodies. BRPR was brought on to build the brand from the ground up in the US. We have opened several NYC restaurants and launched new menu items and initiatives in their US restaurants. Our campaigns were designed to create a big splash in the media, introduce the brand to top food and lifestyle influencers and ultimately drive traffic to the restaurants and online engagement. We secured TV coverage and extensive print and online features, including the Daily Meal, FOX-TV’s “Good Day New York;” New York Post, and Grub Street. We hosted high profile influencer events at the NY and Boston restaurants, as well as media pre-opening dinners. The restaurants are a huge success.
Recently, BRPR launched a Covid-19 initiative with great success. With most of the world in lockdown and restaurants closed during the pandemic, wagamama launched the ‘Wok from Home’ online cooking series with Global Executive Chef Steve Mangleshot preparing popular dishes from his London kitchen to inspire at-home cooks. We seized this unique moment in history to keep the brand newsworthy and front-of-mind. Among the 64 million media impressions we secured for the online initiative was ABC News Digital, the country’s #1 News streaming channel. We proposed the Chef create an exclusive video for ABC News, which subsequently ran on ABC News Digital, Good Morning America’s website, as well as GMA’s Instagram and Facebook platforms.
