The 2010 Census forms have begun arriving in the mailboxes of 120 million Americans homes. If history is any indication, tens of millions of Americans will throw the census in the trash bin.
When the U.S. recession hit at the dawn of 2008, Americans were not the only ones who felt its repercussions. On a global scale, it has been a tough couple of years for all of us. But thanks to the American team’s stunning performance at the Winter Olympics, here at home we’re all walking a little taller.
With the Golden Globes, People’s Choice, and just recently the Grammys behind us, Award Show Season 2010 is in full swing. However, if you’ve dared to subject yourself to weekend after weekend of celebrity hype, you’ve noticed that these aren’t your mother’s award shows. We’re not talking about Beyonce’s futuristic, hair thrashing rendition of “If I Were a Boy” at the Grammys. And we’re not talking about Lady Gaga’s typical avant garde sequence-clad performance that same night. No, this new trend in live award shows, sporting events, and reality television is social media.
On the January 14th broadcast of Stars of PR on www.voiceamerica.com, news producer Anna Gonzalez of News 8 talked about how she single handedly broke the Fort Hood horror story. Ms. Gonzalez was able to get to the scene immediately because of the geographic proximity and cover the breaking story out of the palm of her hand. She tweeted about the gunshots, the casualties, the deaths before traditional news crews were able to set up their live shots much less begin their coverage. She was also able to unobtrusively move through the “restricted areas” and get interviews with concerned family members, witnesses and by-standers. Finally, @webanna was able to send minute-by-minute updates to the News 8 newsroom where the videos, photos, and interviews were professionally packaged and disseminated to news organizations and views around the globe.
The bad news is relentless. Recession. Downward spiral. Climbing unemployment rates. Pandemics. Fraud. The headlines shout at us. They have crept into our lives and seem to weasel their way into everyday conversations, thoughts, and fears.
Remember learning that age-old adage “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all?” Lately, it seems as if this important lesson didn’t really stick.

When a parent has to bury a child, there is no manual, no guide, no 12-step program. A Life Undone, A Father's Journey Through Loss is the story of Barry Kluger's voyage through this most horrific experience, battling unimaginable grief to find a new way of life. In A Life Undone, Kluger shares his struggle after losing his 18-year old daughter Erica, his only child. Readers get a road map-not a guide-via Kluger's thoughts, emails and recollections, on how to adjust to life's inevitable changes, from the miniscule to the monumental. This book delves into Kluger's path to adjusting as a new father, as a divorced parent, a remarried man and finally, as a grieving dad. A Life Undone recounts one man's grieving process, but more importantly, it is a celebration of love and life. tune in… |

But her research uncovered a virtually unknown part of World War II. Working With A Talent Agent

Cindy Rakowitz talks to Hollywood's newest mover and shaker, Sharif Ali, who runs AIMEE Entertainment to get the scoop. Aimee Entertainment clients also join the show to talk about life as an actor. tune in… |

This episode is for everyone who has dreams of being a filmmaker. Although Chris Debiec has worked with legendary directors, he has always been driven to create his own features. The lesson is PATIENCE and accepting the fact that 99% of the time a new creator does NOT have control of the timing. After many years of hard work, rejection and endurance, one of Chris Debiec's projects, "Viagra Falls" has won in the Best Drama Pilot category at this year's New York Television Festival awards. "Viagra Falls" makes it clear that sex is very much a part of life over 70. The writing, acting, and production value is exceptional.
